 Paula Hewitt, Registered Dental Hygienist & Treatment Coordinator
Paula graduated from the University of New Mexico Hygiene School in 1979.
- Clinical experience in the field of general dentistry, periodontics and orthodontics. Paula is a superb hygienist, and is one of only a handful of hygienists who is qualified to remove braces.
- Paula has worked for Haltom Orthodontics for 16 years removing braces.
- Paula has a beautiful 26-year-old daughter, Alisa, who is a biochemist. Paula has a cute little dog, Quila, who keeps her company and is a great exercise buddy.
 Becky Davis, Certified Dental Assistant
Becky has been working with Haltom Orthodontics as an assistant for 29 years. She is certified in Radiology, OSHA and CPR.
- Previously to working with Haltom Orthodontics, Becky worked in periodontics (children's dentistry) for 4 years. Her vast knowledge of orthodontic treatment is based on a lifetime of commitment.
- Becky and her husband, Craig, have two sons, Sean and Tyler. The entire family is actively involved in Young Life (a Christian youth organization). Craig is the area director. Craig and Becky have touched the lives of hundreds of young people in the Albuquerque area.
 Stacy Hirshman, Certified Dental Assistant
Stacy has been with Haltom Orthodontics as an assistant for 16 years. She is certified in CPR, Radiology and OSHA.
Stacy has 18 years of orthodontic experience and is a terrific assistant. Her technique is so precise and gentle that you will be amazed when she is your assistant.
Stacy and her husband, Tom, have three beautiful girls, Kyli, Alix, and Madison. Stacy and Tom are both very athletic and enjoy biking, running, soccer, and camping
Theresa Richey, Certified Dental Assistant
Theresa has been in the Orthodontic field for 17 years, 15 years with Haltom Orthodontics. She is OSHA, Radiology and CPR certified.
- Theresa has been our clinic coordinator and OSHA Coordinator. We depend on her to make sure that all of our supplies and tools are ready and waiting for you on your appointment dates. She and the rest of the clinic staff do a great job!
- Theresa and her husband, Lincoln, have five beautiful children, Shenandoah 13, Zachary 8, Mikela 4, Elijah 3 & Connor 1. Theresa is our office performer. She enjoys dazzling crowds with her amazing ability to sing!

Lisa has been with Haltom Orthodontics as an x-ray technician for 9 years. You will see her in the beginning and at the end of your treatment. Her gentle and caring way will make you feel comfortable immediately in our practice. On your first visit she will be taking some digital pictures, and if Dr. Haltom gives her the thumbs-up we will take models of your teeth.
- 16 years orthodontic experience as an assistant and an x-ray technician.
- Lisa enjoys country living. She loves to ride horses, take care of her many animals and go to live concerts.
 Gwen Fields, Certified Dental Assistant
Gwen has been with Haltom Orthodontics as an assistant for 11 years. She is certified in Radiology, OSHA and CPR. Gwen's patients love her for her caring nature and her love for people. You will love her just as much when she is your assistant.
- 23 years of orthodontic experience.
- Gwen and her spouse Mike have been married for 32 years. They have two daughters and four beautiful grandchildren, Ryan, Reanna, Cameron, and Madison. Gwen loves shoes and antique shopping, home decorating, and bike riding. She's also an excellent cook and is always spoiling us with her great treats. She's said to have the best salsa this side of the Rio Grande.
 Lucy Purtell, Certified Dental Assistant
Lucy has been with Haltom Orthodontics as an assistant for 8 years. She is a graduate of the University of New Mexico on the dean's list in 1978.
- Lucy has 29 years of orthodontic experience. She is a wonderful person as well as a wonderful assistant. She always has a smile and a kind word for everyone. She is our office angel that brightens our day with her sweet and gentle hugs. You to will want to experience one of her hugs when she becomes your assistant.
- Lucy and her spouse, Tim just celebrated 29 years of marriage. They have one daughter, Denae. Her hobbies include cross-stitching, snow and water skiing, tennis, and spending time with her dogs.
 Laurel Grimes, Clerical Assistant
Laurel has been with Haltom Orthodontics for 11 years. Laurel is always eager to help out wherever she is needed. She has vast knowledge of our office and can jump in anywhere at a moments notice.
- University of New Mexico graduate, Bachelors in Criminology.
- Laurel and her spouse, Robert, have a daughter, Delaney and a son, Ryan.. Laurel studies jazz and has a black belt in Karate. (Watch it, her voice may be sweet but she can do some bodily harm!) She and Robert enjoy camping and boating.

Deborah has been with Haltom Orthodontics for 7 years. She is our front office manager. She contributes so much to our office with her 26 years of orthodontic administration experience as well as her upbeat attitude.
- Deborah and her spouse, Larry, have two daughters in Texas, and 4 grandchildren. Deborah enjoys traveling and shopping.
Laurie Mendiola, Treatment Coordinator
Laurie has been with Haltom Orthodontics for almost 5 years. Laurie has 12 years experience in orthodontics. Laurie adds a fun dynamic that is enjoyed by all.
- Laurie and her spouse Marcos have an adorable son, Isaiah.
- Laurie loves to salsa dance and travel.
 Lorie Coburn, Certified Dental Assistant
Lorie has been with Haltom Orthodontics for 5 years, with 6 years of orthodontic experience. Lorie is a great assistant with a soft and gentle touch.
- Lorie has great drive and determination to better her abilities, and is rapidly succeeding in this effort.
- Lorie enjoys traveling, music and her many great friends.
 Yvonne Jojola, Certified Dental Assistant
Yvonne has been with Haltom Ortho for 4 years. She is a graduate of Pima Medical Institute. She has 16 years of orthodontic experience. She is OSHA, radiology and CPR certified. Her bright smile will lighten up your day when you come in for your appointments.
- Yvonne and her spouse Mike and their youngest son Richard live in Isleta Pueblo. Together, Mike and Yvonne have joined families and share 4 children and 4 beautiful grandchildren. On her spare time she enjoys riding her Harley and spending quality time with her family.
 Amy Sam, Financial Coordinator
Amy has just recently joined the Haltom Orthodontic team. She has 3 years of orthodontic financial experience and according to her “much life experience!” Amy will help you through the financial process as well take care of insurance billing if necessary.
- Amy has 2 children Desiree, a junior in high school and Zach, a freshman at Highlands University where he is there playing football.
- Amy and her boyfriend John have adopted a “baby” pitbull named “Girl” She loves to shop and be at home watching reality television.
 Heather Casey, Registered Dental Assistant
Heather has been with Haltom Orthodontics for 2 years. She has 11 years of orthodontic assistant experience. Her knowledge and experience of orthodontics is extremely beneficial to our team.
- Heather has 2 children Felicia 17 who is a senior in high school and Anthony 13 who is a great football player. Their family spends much of their free time at football games.
 Marissa Tenorio, Certified Dental Assistant
Marissa recently joined our clinical team carrying 6 years of assistant experience. We are excited to have her enthusiasm and knowledge to share with us.
- Marissa has an 8 year old son Jorell and she enjoys spending all of her free time with him. Marissa is expecting her second child in May of this year. "Congratulations"
 Kristyn Chavez, Registerd Dental Assistant
Kristyn has been with Haltom Orthodontics for 2 years, she is a valued member of our team. She and her finance’ Javier have a beautiful son Javier Jr. They enjoy spending their free time together.
