Knowing what to expect during your first visit with us can help you feel calm and prepared for your first appointment. During your COMPLIMENTARY consultation, you will get to know Dr. Haltom and our friendly and caring office team. You will also have time to discuss any questions or concerns you have about the health and well-being of your smile. New patients at our office generally undergo a comprehensive oral health examination. The exam may include dental x-rays and photos.
For your first appointment, there are several things you can bring with you to make your visit as simple and convenient as possible, including:

To save time when you come for your initial consultation, please take a few minutes to fill out the required health history form. Choose the appropriate form below; print it at home, fill it out and then bring it with you to your appointment.
The goal of your first dental appointment is to get to know the staff and meet Dr. Haltom During this visit, you will meet with our treatment coordinator and Dr. Haltom to discuss your specific smile goals and any concerns you may have.
Dr. Haltom may ask you about your dental history, so you should be prepared to discuss past dental work as well as any changes you have noticed in your smile.
Your dentist will check the health of your teeth and gums. They will likely also examine your jaw and the way your teeth fit together. The oral exam allows your Dr. Haltom to obtain a complete picture of the health of your smile. If you have not had x-rays taken within the past six months, you will likely have some taken during this appointment as well.
After your initial evaluation, Dr. Haltom and our treatment coordinator will discuss your treatment options with you, so that you can make an educated decision about how to proceed.
Please allow one hour for your consultation. Generally, it is best to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete any patient forms. Preparing for your appointment in advance can help expedite the visit.
During your visit, we can provide you with a personalized estimate of the cost of your treatment plan. In many cases, we can also contact your insurance provider to discuss coverage. During this appointment, you can also learn more about what types of payment we accept and the financing options we offer. Understanding your coverage and options can help you make a more informed decision about your treatment.
